Frontstage Magazine: From being a homeless teenager to becoming an international pop star – your story is incredibly inspiring. When did you realize that your music was reaching people all over the world?
Alex Warren: it’s funny. I still don’t feel like it is. I know it is but it’s hard to convince myself that this music has touched so many people. i’m so excited and so overwhelmed at the same time, it’s truly a beautiful feeling.
Frontstage Magazine: Your new single “Ordinary” is a deeply personal love song dedicated to your wife, Kouvr. What moved you the most while writing it?
Alex Warren: I was thinking about how in this generation it’s so difficult to find love at such a young age. i wanted to encompass that into a song that felt like our love and something that was out of the ordinary.
Frontstage Magazine: With “Burning Down,” you not only made it into the Billboard Hot 100 but also released a version with Joe Jonas. How did this collaboration come about?
Alex Warren: apparently both of our teams had been talking for a while. Joe had been a fan of mine and i had been a fan of him since the very beginning. i was star struck when we first met. i was totally expecting him to be mean to me and he was the nicest person ever.
Frontstage Magazine: Your “Cheaper Than Therapy” world tour is almost completely sold out – how does it feel to know that thousands of fans worldwide want to experience your music live?
Alex Warren: i’m waiting for someone to tell me it’s a prank and it’s not real.
Frontstage Magazine: You have built a massive online community that has followed you for years. How important is social media for you as an artist?
Alex Warren: i feel like social media is the most important part of being an artist. now we have control of our own music and what is done with our music. i’m so blessed i was able to find a community of people that love my music and love my relationship
Frontstage Magazine: 2024 was an incredibly successful year for you. What can we expect from Alex Warren in 2025? Are there already plans for new music or other projects?
Alex Warren: everything’s going down hill
