Frontstage Magazine: Hi, how are you doing today?
Ben: Hello! I’m doing ok thank you, super excited to be back on the road with the boys. Although being 6ft 3 and sleeping in a van isn’t quite the Hilton we all wish it was but we love it regardless!
Frontstage Magazine: You are currently on a European tour with Aviana. What differences have you noticed compared to your last tour?
Ben: There’s a lot more people who know who we are which is obviously unreal for us, the sing-alongs have been surreal! But what we’ve grown to love has been the same, amazing crowds and amazing hospitality.
Frontstage Magazine: Out of all the experiences you’ve had during your current tour, what has been the most memorable moment for you?
Ben: I can’t really narrow it down to one particular moment. The touring party are all excellent people and we are having a laugh and getting on so well. Obviously, we already knew Aviana who we’ve enjoyed touring with before, but meeting Earth Caller and Dead Like Juliet has been awesome too. Incredible musicians and incredible people all around.
Frontstage Magazine: You’ve already had a great start to the year with a European tour and planned shows in the UK, and now the festival season is coming up. How significant is it for you to play at festivals like Misery Loves Company Music Festival or Bloodstock Open Air this year?
Ben: Festivals have always been significant to us, playing to a huge crowd and playing alongside some of our favourite bands is always an incredible opportunity. And having just announced Rock For People is another one to tick off the bucket list!
Frontstage Magazine: Your album „Deadlock“ was released last year. What have you been up to since then, and how was the past year for you?
Ben: The past year has been pretty surreal for us really. Playing shows all summer with the likes of Spiritbox and Ice Nine Kills but also playing some of our biggest festival appearances yet. Our mainstage slot at Hellfest last year will be a day I’m sure none of us will forget! Well, I don’t think we will forget any of the shows throughout summer 2022. In terms of what we have been up to, all I can say is we are writing new music and you’re gonna love it!
Frontstage Magazine: What are your plans for new music this year? Can we expect any new releases after the summer, perhaps?
Ben: There will be new music this year, we have some amazing things in the pipeline.
Frontstage Magazine: Our final question is a bit off-topic: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
Ben: I’ve said this for years and years…. Australia. I know a lot of people who have been and said how awesome it is – I really want to experience it for myself. Although the bugs over there don’t look too welcoming…
