Frontstage Magazine: Your new record marks a clear step forward in your musical evolution. What was the main feeling or concept that guided you during the writing and production process?
Solence: First of – thanks for having me!! 🙂 We always want to give fans the ultimate “Solence Experience” but for this album the most important part for us was to get this album to translate to live. We want to play more headlines and this album feels like it compliments that vision very well.
Frontstage Magazine: The overall sound feels like a powerful fusion of energy, electronic elements, and a positive message. How did you decide together which creative direction to pursue?
Solence: Honestly we don’t overthink it that much. Since we selfproduce and write everything on our own we just sit down every morning in the studio and write whatever we wanna write. We just try to make it as honest and great as possible! What you hear is what we’re feeling at this very moment.
Frontstage Magazine: The title “Angels Calling” carries a strong sense of symbolism. What does it represent for you personally?
Solence: It represents that life is short and our time is limited and we should do what we want with no regrets before the angels calls us home! For me it was pursuing a life within music and be brave enough to follow my dreams. Hopefully it continues in the future.. 🙂
Frontstage Magazine: After several albums and years of intense work, how would you say this project reflects who SOLENCE are today?
Solence: The same, honestly! We just try to push and push as much as we can and make the most out of everything. Hopefully we can continue this way with integrity and our vision. That would make me really happy 🙂 But one difference when I think about it is the live aspect, since we started playing live seriously in 2022- we wanna play live more and have the songs translate well live.
Frontstage Magazine: Even with such a big and energetic production, the songs feel emotional and relatable. How do you manage to keep that personal touch without losing the power and impact?
Solence: I think it’s the combination of all the members in the band, everyone has their own input in the songs and we all like different things so I think all the elements put together actually is what makes Solence. We try not to think that much about what we’re doing and more how it feels and how we can make it better. Thank you for having me!
