Frontstage Magazine: If you wake up tomorrow morning and you can be seen on the cover of the New York Times, then…
John: …I’d show my parents so they didn’t think I wasted their money going to university.
Frontstage Magazine: If your musical role model calls you at an inopportune moment, then…
Wes: …firstly, my musical role model would have to be Jade Puget of AFI. Hell if he called me I would drop whatever I’m doing and MAKE time for him!
Frontstage Magazine: If you leave the house and a small child stands in front of your door and wants a photo with you, then…
John: …I’d ask how it knows where I live. Am I that photogenic? Probably, yes.
Frontstage Magazine: If you had to do any job well for the rest of your life, then…
John: …it would be playing drums in Kali Masi. Without a doubt. (radiates up to both ears)
Frontstage Magazine: If from tomorrow everyone could travel back and forth to any number of parallel earths that are untouched by humans, then…
Wes: …I always have a hard time finding a quiet place to write music so I’d have a whole parallel earth in which to write would be perfect.
Frontstage Magazine: If your greatest idol asked you for advice, then…
John: …I think that I could give them good advice. I’m no idiot! Just because they’re an idol doesn’t mean they’re above receiving advice. But I’d have to ask them for advice as well…
Frontstage Magazine: If you had to decide whether you could only breathe underwater or fly, then …
John: …FLY!
Wes: …breath underwater! That way I can explore the unexplored and meet whatever scary giant creatures… on second thought I want to change my answer to fly.
Frontstage Magazine: If you find out that your biggest hit was being used for right wing propaganda, then …
John: …cease and desist. Fuck that! Also, kinda flattered it was considered… but fuck that!
Frontstage Magazine: If you could get the opinion of someone of your choice before the release of your next album, then…
John: …it would be Mark Hoppus from Blink 182. I’d want him to be brutally honest though. I’m not even some giant fan. The validation would mean something because he’s such a pro.
Frontstage Magazine: If you wake up tomorrow and don’t know anything about your band in the morning, then…
Wes: …I’d hope that I’d eventually find out about my band and become a fan (laughts)
Frontstage Magazine: If your biggest source of inspiration tells you that your music is the biggest crap of all time, then…
John: …that would suck for a second. But whatever. We’d keep going. It doesn’t matter. They’re wrong. Nobody’s opinion is sacred.
Frontstage Magazine: If tomorrow everyone would only hear Jazz, then…
Wes: …I’d have everyone only listen to jazz. Then I’d finally have people to talk about jazz with… please talk about jazz with me.
Frontstage Magazine: If you could have your own festival, then…
John: …man, that would be rad. We’d have all of our friends bands and other bands we love play. It’d be safe and affordable. There’d be little areas for people to nap if they want. The food would be splendid. We’d have all kinds of acts as well as an art gallery.
Frontstage Magazine: If you had to do your booking yourself, then…
John: …we’ve done that before. It’s a pain and we don’t get as good as shows. Maybe someday we will again though…
Wes: …We used to do that but I personally only booked a few of them and the ones I booked were… not great.
Frontstage Magazine: If someone tells you they want to tattoo your logo or one of your song lines, then…
John: …what an honor! The whole point of this band is to make music that means as much to people as the bands that we love mean to us. I have some lyrics tattooed on me. It’d mean a lot if someone did that.
Frontstage Magazine: If you could swap places with a musician / band for a concert, then…
John: it’d be my bandmates. I’m jealous that they get to dance around on stage and I have to sit down the whole time. I get lonely back there!! (laughts)
