Frontstage Magazine: If you could trade places with a musician/band for a concert….
Daisy The Great: We just played a festival that Green Day was headlining and their show was so much fun, we’d be very stoked to swap with them for a concert.
Frontstage Magazine: If one of you drops out at the next concert, but you have to play, then…
Daisy The Great: This actually nearly happened to us at a concert we were supposed to play over the summer. Kelley unfortunately tested positive for Covid a few days before we were supposed to perform. Our first idea was to put a long blonde wig on a mic stand and pretend she was there. So we would probably go with that plan again. Or we’d build a robot to stand in and do a little dance.
Frontstage Magazine: If you looked at your Wikipedia entry 10 years from now, it would say …
Daisy The Great: Daisy the Great was born in a garden in a pumpkin patch near Maine. She was the only daisy in the pumpkin patch but grew to be 10 feet tall (and still growing). She is a popular photo opp for lost travelers. Daisy the Great is named after a very successful indie rock band that is still thriving today. Daisy the Great is about to embark on a sold out arena tour, including 10 sold out nights at Madison Square Garden. Daisy the Great was formed by Mina Walker and Kelley Nicole Dugan who are actually twins in real life. Though they choose to have different last names so that people can continue to ask, are they related? Are they dating? No one actually knows.
Frontstage Magazine: If you could host your own festival, then…
Daisy The Great: We would have a lot of different stages and design all of the stages to be an interesting space. We just played Firefly Festival and we got to play on the Treehouse stage, which was such a beautiful location to perform in. It was a really lovely space tucked in amongst the trees, and it was such an inspiring stage that we actually switched up our set list so we could play a more soft intimate song to match the setting. I would want to create that type of special space for each of the stages and invite all of my favorite artists to play. We’d also have lots of good food and spaces to lay in the grass. We would curate the day so that the music playing would compliment the time of day.
Frontstage Magazine: If your absolute favorite band/artist would play with you in the opening program, then…
Daisy The Great: That would be so cool. We’d ask Fiona Apple to play and we would beg her to let us sing a song with her.
Frontstage Magazine: If you had to do any job well for the rest of your life, you would…
Daisy The Great: On-stage banter.
Frontstage Magazine: If, starting tomorrow, every human being could travel back and forth to any number of parallel Earths untouched by humans, then…
Daisy The Great: We’d probably stay home because we wouldn’t want to ruin a beautiful untainted Earth with our silly little egos. But maybe we would have a big space concert somewhere in between.
Frontstage Magazine: If your biggest idol asked you for some advice, it would be….
Daisy The Great: That’s such a tough question because I think it’s hard to see yourself as potentially wise in the eyes of an idol. But if they are ever bored on tour, we would definitely advise them to route their tour through Pigeon Forge TN so they can stop and ride the Rocky Top Mountain Coaster. We’re big fans.
Frontstage Magazine: If you had everyone’s attention for 30 seconds, then…
Daisy The Great: We’d sing the chorus of [our new song] “Time Machine” !!
Frontstage Magazine: If you wake up tomorrow and don’t know anything about your band in the morning…
Daisy The Great: We’d probably still spend the day making music or being creative somehow. Maybe we’d call each other up and start a band right away
