Es ist endlich so weit. Die von uns präsentierte 10th Year Anniversary von The Sensitives startet in dieser Woche. Die sympathischen Schweden haben unter anderem ihr aktuellen Album „Punch“ im Gepäck, das im November 2020 erschien und seitdem darauf wartet live gespielt zu werden. Trotz Vorbereitungsstress hat Martin sich die Zeit genommen uns ein paar Fragen über die anstehende Tour zu beantworten.
Frontstage Magazine: Hello. I’m glad that you take the time. How are you?
Martin: We’re good and super excited. It’s been a long time since we’ve been out on the road, so we’re really busy preparing for our 10th Year Anniversary Tour.
The situation with ongoing wars and covid isn’t exactly lifting our spirit, but we hope we can give people some energy and get some energy ourselves by going on tour.
Frontstage Magazine: Your album „Punch“ was released in November 2020 and you haven’t really had the chance to present it live yet. How is it for you to go on tour with it almost 1.5 years later?
Martin: Really exciting, but to be honest I think we’re a little bit nervous. I mean, do we even remember how to tour properly? We hope a lot of old and new friends show up at the shows and remind us how it’s done!
We’re really pleased with how the album turned out and were really bummed out when we couldn’t tour with it right away, but we’ve played some of the songs live before we released the album, and they worked out really good then.
Frontstage Magazine: What are your plans for this tour or what can we expect?
Martin: The plan is basically to have a really good time and to work our asses of on stage as we always do. We’re celebrating 10 years as a band so we’ll play oldies, songs from „punch“ and maybe even some new stuff. We’ve had a lot of time to rest since we last toured, so it will probably be even sweatier and more intense than ever!
Frontstage Magazine: What did you miss most about being on tour and what did you miss least?
Martin: We actually miss most things about touring: obviously playing shows, having some beers with old and new friends, watching other bands. Even slaying miles on the autobahn has felt like a dream the last year, although we’ll probably regret saying that a couple of days in on tour.
Frontstage Magazine: Apart from the fact that you can now present your new songs. Do you have a song that you like to play live the most?
Martin: It’s always a lot of fun playing songs that people sing along to like „Kick a hole in the sky“ or „Old Fashioned Fuck Off“. Although we play them at every show it’s never boring since the energy always tends to explode during those songs.

Frontstage Magazine: Are there big differences between the audience in Sweden and here in Germany?
Martin: Generally speaking, the audience in Germany seems a little bit more easy going and open to bands that they haven’t heard before or maybe isn’t playing their favorite genre. But that’s Generally speaking, we’ve played really fun shows in Sweden as well.
Another thing that’s different is that in Sweden no one goes to a concert on a weekday, because there are no concerts Monday to Thursday. And because it is that way, it’s impossible to tour around the country. Weekends are the only time to play in Sweden. While in Germany people show up any day of the week for some punk music.
Frontstage Magazine: What would be your dream location to play a concert?
Martin: We love to play anywhere, as long as it’s a good atmosphere and people are having a good time and showing it.
