Im Zuge der Veröffentlichung seiner kommenden EP „Know Your Worth“ gewährt uns der in Berlin lebende Solokünstler Chris de Sarandy auf seiner nostalgisch angehauchten neuen Single „Who I Once Knew” den bisher tiefsten Einblick in seine Gefühlswelt. Der Song erinnert an den gesangsbetonten, elektro-akustischen Pop von Aquilo, M83 und Bob Moses. Melancholischer Gesang und Streicher verbinden sich dabei mit gegensätzlichen Elementen wie hallenden Kicks und treibendem E-Gitarren Sound. „Der Song erzählt davon, wie es ist, eine Person zu verlieren, mit der man sich einst sehr verbunden fühlte.“, fasst de Sarandy das Thema des Tracks zusammen und erzählt dabei auch von männlicher Verletzlichkeit. „Der Song beschreibt die Wirkung, die dieser Verlust auf mich hatte.” Das nahmen wie uns zum Anlass, Chris unsere 10 Wunderfragen zu stellen.
