Maruja kündigen mit „Pain To Power“ ihr Debüt-Album für den 12. September 2025 via Music For Nations an. Produziert wurde das Album von Samuel W. Jones, der bereits seit den ersten drei EPs mit der Band zusammenarbeitet.
„Pain To Power“ ist eine außergewöhnliche Sammlung von acht Tracks, die bestätigt, dass die vier Musiker eine kreative Naturgewalt und gleichermaßen eine emotionale und einfühlsame Band sind, die sich mit der Kraft als Gemeinschaft beschäftigt.
Die erste Vorab-Single „Look Down On Us“ ist ein wütender Schrei gegen die Auswirkungen des Spätkapitalismus und den Reichtum des einen Prozents auf die globale Gesellschaft. Protestmusik, in seiner reinsten Form. Sie regt zum Nachdenken an, vereint und wirkt kathartisch. Damit reihen Maruja sich in die Riege der Acts ein, die Kunst nutzen um Veränderungen voranzutreiben.
Harry Wilkinson sagt über die Single:
„Look Down On Us is a reflection of the times we live in. The first half of the song paints a grotesque and vivid picture of the super wealthy, and the impact they have on our culture. The second half is about the need to come together in solidarity and embrace love as a wider community, especially in times of oppression. The song ends full circle, arching back to where it began as a reminder to the listener of the struggle from which it came, and the struggle that still remains.„
