Frontstage Magazine: How does it feel to go on a Germany tour for the first time? What are your expectations and hopes for this tour?
Joker Out: We’re super excited to finally play some gigs for our German fans, who have been very impatiently waiting for us to come. Now they’ll have the chance to catch us around the country in Berlin, Leipzig, Hamburg, Koln and Munich. We hope and know we’ll have a good time rocking out on stage and hopefully gain some interest to come and play some festivals in the summer!
Frontstage Magazine: Your sound is described as „Shagadelic Rock’n’Roll.“ How would you describe your unique style to someone who has never heard your music before?
Joker Out: Our sound is a very explosive but seductive brand of rock n roll aimed at spreading love through music, sprinkeled with some meaningful lyrics. The name shagadelic is derived from the movie Austin Powers, who is our collective spirit animal.
Frontstage Magazine: With your high-energy performances, you’ve dominated the Slovenian music scene. How do you plan to ensure that your live shows also captivate the German audience?
Joker Out: We’ll do the same we have always done. We’ll be ourselves, we’ll give our everything on each show of the tour and fill you up with love, energy and some thundering music. That always works.
Frontstage Magazine: Your second studio album, „Demoni,“ further solidified your position as leaders of the Slovenian music scene. How have you experienced the transition from local to international recognition, and what do you hope to achieve with your Germany tour in this context?
Joker Out: Our transition to international recognition has been very sudden and drastic. We have had little time to breathe since our Eurovision performance as we have been touring Europe and recording new songs in the little time we have left. It has broadened our horizons as people and as musicians and made us realize how strong our inner core as a band is. Germany as one of the biggest countries plays an important role in our effort to solidify ourselves as a performing band in Europe and we can’t wait to tackle it.
Frontstage Magazine: You’ve already received numerous awards, including Artist of the Year and Song of the Year. What significance do such awards hold for you, and do they influence your approach to music?
Joker Out: They don’t influence our approach to music, as we only create what we want to and what we believe is unique. But they are a very welcome industry approval of our work and serve as a nice physical reminder of where we have come.
Frontstage Magazine: How does your diversity as band members influence your creative collaboration, and how does that reflect in your music, especially on stage during your live performances?
Joker Out: We like to exploit the differences between us as musicians and as people, because that is where true inspiration and originality reside. Although sometimes differences can cause minor disagreements, they have always worked to our advantage in music, band affairs and life. On stage these differences really disappear as we merge into one synchronised musicial entity with each of us finding his own spot in it.
